Many of us might have got beaten up by our teachers. I too have had those experiences. This was not for studies or home works or something. I was in my 9th grade then. I was studying in a Government aided school in Aruppukottai. I was admitted in an AC class which cost me 6500 that year. The class was completely air conditioned. The normal fees was actually less than 2000.
I joined and it was all fun in that class. As the fees 6500 was considered a huge amount by many, that class didn't get a house-full. That was the first year of that AC class. It was introduced the year when I got into that school. Since it was new, many feared to admit their children in. So we had only 19 members in that class. We were alone. We had a closed room. We wrestled in the class room, we played cricket. We danced, we made movies. It was fun.
We had no tuition and also I hated it. But my Close friend, Rathin Dala Prince begged me so hard to join. It was not taken by my class teacher. I took tuition from an Ordinary class teacher ( just telling the difference not that I'm considering the teacher inferior or something ). The class would be large holding a class strength of about 50 or more. I went in the evening. If I don't go to one, I enjoy a lot in my home. But as he requested I did go.
It was one fine day. I was in the tuition and we were given an interval. At that time, the hot talk was that the students had seen a snake near the toilet. So I took this chance to do my prank-ies. I took this situation as a catalyst to do my reaction. Wherever I went out in the interval, I would scream suddenly at the approaching students from the opposite side facing me.
I screamed like, "Ahhhhh!! Snake! Snake!". Everybody would yell jumping to their feet. They, then know that it was a prank and they just gimme a wide smile and go. I was doing this again and again. It was so much fun that I did it repeatedly without even going back to the class. The interval was over but I still pranked many who were still out.
I had tears from my eyes as I laughed so hard. It was really cool. Wait, the story is yet to begin. We had a teacher named Thravidamani. He was short and small. He had a sheepish smile. If you really wanna imagine his face, he looks like a Hynah! He was very strict and he was famous for his severe punishments but I hadn't had an encounter with him as I was in a different section of the same class. He too taught for 9th grade. I know about his character and I tried all possible ways to avoid him. But today, it was my grave-day (pun intended). I was doing those pranks on all students irrelevant of their classes. The more fun is when I did for the smaller ones. I finally found my way to the school canteen. It was well lit and the rays of light were coming towards me. So that the things which come on your way would look like a walking shadow. I did face a walking shadow and I again went to do the same prank. When walked to him, I knew that he was some 6th or 7th grade. I imagined it to be the funniest of all but it turned out to be hell (again pun).
I did the prank yell. "Snake! snake!". I had been walking looking at the ground rather the person I was about to prank. The light glowed slowly on his face and the one whom I thought as a 6th grader was actually a teacher who took classes for the 9th graders. It was of course, THRAVIDAMANI. I was scared on seeing his face. I was like "Sorry sir" "No Sir" at that moment. You know in situations like that you really don't know what they are saying but you just keep apologizing for what you've done. It is a common thing, you do it in fear.
My good time, he wasn't in a bad mood at that time. So he beat me a little and asked the details of my class and my class teacher. I was real scared. I told this to my friend Prince who was with me at that time and he just told me that the teacher was absent-minded who often forgets things. I was like "Why did you even do that?" for the whole evening. But later my face from his brain were lost in the days of history. The incident is still my one of the biggest pranks I had ever done. I would never ever forget that one.
Hope this gave you some good time. Be back with another story of mine. Until then this is Guhan slamming the door.
